The creation of an Office of Religious Freedom could have positive results, if Andrew Bennett’s mandate is not limited to people outside of Canada. There is currently a massive assault on the religious freedom of people in Canada who believe that the Earth is sacred.

I therefore look forward to Bennett’s recommendations that the Harper government take immediate action to respect and protect the environment. The first step would be to rescind its policies that enable resource extraction and development to contaminate and pollute Canada’s land and waters.
