Tune: America the Beautiful
Now here we stand on Native land
to protest every rose
who was adored and died, ignored —
a crime we now expose.
We call upon authorities
of every kind and creed:
Step up and do your duty to
investigate each deed.
When they were lost
their lives were tossed
away like falling leaves.
No searching parties far and wide
would happy ends achieve.
We know too well these women died
because we don’t respect
the choices and the pain of those
with whom we don’t connect.
